  • How would you define the different carrying capacities?
  • Please refer to the following definitions. You may also find these definitions in your Owner's Manual.

GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating): Means the maximum permissible weight of this motor home. The GVWR is equal to or greater than the sum of the unloaded vehicle weight plus the net carrying capacity.
GCWR (Gross Combined Weight Rating): Means the value specified by the motor home manufacturer as the maximum allowable loaded weight of this motor home with its towed trailer or towed vehicle. Towing and braking capacities may differ. Refer to Fleetwood and chassis manufacturer manuals for complete information.
GAWR (Gross Axle Weight Rating): Means the maximum permissible loaded weight a specific axle is designed to carry.
GTW (Gross Towed Weight): The maximum permissible loaded weight of a trailer or car that this motor home has been designed to tow. This cannot be increased by changing the trailer hitch.
UVW (Unloaded Vehicle Weight): The weight of the motor home as built at the factory with full fuel, engine oil and coolants. The UVW does not include cargo, fresh water, LP gas, occupants or dealer installed accessories.
NCC (Net Carrying Capacity): The maximum weight of all occupants including the driver, passenger, personal belongings, food, fresh water, LP gas, tools, tongue weight of towed vehicle, dealer installed accessories, etc., that can be carried by this motor home. Normal variation of materials may cause the Net Carrying Capacity to be 200 lbs. higher or lower than stated. (NCC is equal to or less than GVWR minus UVW).
Tongue Weight: The maximum permissible downward force exerted on the hitch ball by the towed vehicle coupler.

The chassis manufacturer recommends the installation of a supplemental brake control system to activate the brakes on the vehicle or trailer you are towing.
  • How do I obtain a schematic or service manual for my Fleetwood motor home?
  • Please enter your 11 digit serial number above and click "Ask Us". Enter the appropriate information and your request for a schematic in the question box, and we will send you an electrical or plumbing schematic accordingly. However, Fleetwood does not publish a service manual; we recommend that you contact your authorized Fleetwood dealer.
  • What are my vehicle's F.I.N. and V.I.N.?
  • The F.I.N. (Fleetwood Identification Number) is the serial number Fleetwood uses to identify your motor home. You can find the F.I.N. on the exterior driver sidewall, near the entry door, on a silver sticker. You may also find the F.I.N. on the carrying capacity sheet in the main wardrobe closet. When calling Fleetwood, please refer to the F.I.N.

The V.I.N. (Vehicle Identification Number) is the serial number the Chassis Manufacturer uses to identify the chassis of the motor home.
  • Where can I find information that can help me learn about my motor home?
  • Please refer to your Owner's Manual, an authorized Fleetwood Servicing dealer, or you can call Fleetwood's National Call Center.
  • What is the maximum towing weight I can tow with my motor home?
  • Since each motor home is configured differently, please check the carrying capacity tag located in your motor home.

Information on this carrying capacity tag combines with information within your Fleetwood and/or chassis manufacturer manuals to assist you in proper towing. Please contact either your dealer, Fleetwood, or chassis manufacturer if you have any questions in these materials.

Fleetwood has designed its motor home brands to provide a variety of potential uses for its customers. Each unit features the optimum storage, fluid, seating, and sleeping capabilities. Though the customer enjoys this potential, he/she also has the responsibility to select the proper combinations of loads without exceeding the chassis weight capacities.

The chassis manufacturer recommends the installation of a supplemental brake control system to activate the brakes on the vehicle or trailer you are towing.
  • How do I obtain owners manuals for the appliances in my recreational vehicle?
  • Please contact our Owner Relations department at 800-322-8216 and we can assist you in obtaining your manuals.
